Cleveland High School converted to four distinct theme-based small schools at the beginning of the 2003-04 school year. Plans to completely remodel the school's physical plant accompanied the school's curricular changes. Scheduled to reopen in 2007, the new Cleveland campus will be comprised of four self-contained academies each with 200 students. The exterior of the original landmark-status building will be refurbished with new windows and terracotta and masonry repair. The interior spaces will be completely reconfigured to accommodate two of the four small schools.
