Adaptable and flexible
Too many high schools teach students in the same outmoded buildings, using the curriculum of generations long past. And yet our world has changed in drastic ways. School design must acknowledge the rapid pace of change, creating structures both flexible in the short run and adaptable in the long run. Only by so doing will our nation avoid repeating the situation in which we now find ourselves — a secondary school system that no longer meets the needs of its learners.
